Precision through gray cast iron, with long-lasting dimensional stability

Our welding tables feature a modular design and can be optimally adapted to large and bulky assemblies using removable rails, table extensions, and flexible bases. Height adjustment, as well as tilt, swivel, and rotation functions, enable ergonomic working and enhance process reliability in day-to-day production.

Durable & safe: Welding tables for continuous use

The flat gray cast iron support surface ensures long-term dimensional stability. Clamping and positioning devices can be adjusted continuously in the X and Y directions, without any grid restrictions. Gray cast iron has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than steel, ensuring stable results during welding. Additionally, our Al/Cu rails for stainless steel machining provide a contamination-free surface, prevent foreign rust, and enable precise and repeatable positioning of components.

Durable & low-maintenance: gray cast iron with a non-stick patina

Open-pored gray cast iron with a high graphite content develops a natural non-stick patina that resists weld spatter when properly maintained. Cleaning becomes easier over time, which increases the surface’s longevity. Aluminum/copper rails further support contamination-free stainless steel machining, reduce cleaning efforts, and ensure that workpiece supports remain clean at all times.

Buy welding tables, directly from the manufacturer

At FÖRSTER welding systems, you buy welding tables directly from the manufacturer, without going through a dealer network. Every table is manufactured at our plant in Hohenstein-Ernstthal and undergoes a complete quality control process on-site. For you, this means: no dealer markups, personalized advice from the manufacturer, and fast availability ex-works. As an owner-managed family business with over 35 years of experience, we stand for reliability, quality, and Made in Germany.

Cast iron instead of perforated plate: what sets our welding tables apart

Most welding tables on the market are based on perforated steel plates with a fixed hole pattern (16, 22, or 28 mm). The FÖRSTER system works differently: Solid gray cast iron rails with T-slots allow for continuous positioning without being restricted by a fixed grid. Cast iron is a special alloy that exhibits lower thermal expansion than steel, significantly reduces impact noise, and, with regular maintenance, forms a natural non-stick patina that resists welding spatter. Cleaning becomes easier over time, not more difficult. Should a rail nevertheless become damaged, it can be replaced individually; there is no need to replace the entire table.

Welding tables for stainless steel, contamination-free processing

For stainless steel machining, we offer rails made of an aluminum-copper alloy. These Al/Cu rails prevent foreign rust and contamination, are easy to clean, and ensure consistently precise results. To complement these, we supply clamping devices with contact surfaces made of brass or stainless steel to ensure a completely contamination-free work area.

For which applications are FÖRSTER welding tables suitable?

Our welding tables are used wherever consistent quality and ergonomic working conditions are essential: in steel construction, metal fabrication, railing construction, vehicle manufacturing, tank fabrication, shipbuilding, rail vehicle manufacturing, mechanical and plant engineering, as well as in the offshore and wind energy sectors. The modular design with removable rails allows adaptation to bulky assemblies of any size, from small frame construction projects to industrial series production. Tall and bulky assemblies can be more easily accessed by removing individual rails, while flexible bases allow for height adjustment, turning, swiveling, and rotating of the work surface.

Time savings and efficiency in everyday welding

A manageable range of accessories means faster setup times. With approximately 25 universal clamping and positioning devices, you can handle applications that would require hundreds of individual parts in other systems. Cleaning and maintaining the table becomes easier over time, not more difficult. A manageable selection of accessories gets the job done faster, and combining multiple tables enables flexible workstation configurations for any manufacturing situation.

Frequently Asked Questions About FÖRSTER Welding Tables

What sets the FÖRSTER T-slot system apart from perforated-plate welding tables?

Perforated plate systems (D16, D22, or D28) allow clamping devices to be positioned only within a fixed hole pattern. The FÖRSTER T-slot system enables continuous positioning in the X and Y directions without being restricted by a grid. In addition, our rails are made of solid gray cast iron instead of steel, which results in lower thermal expansion, natural non-stick properties, and significantly less impact noise.

Which type of welding table is right for my production needs?

That depends on your requirements for ergonomics and workpiece access. The 3D welding table serves as a versatile foundation for all standard welding and assembly tasks. If you need to weld assemblies from multiple sides, a rotating welding table is recommended. For rotating operators or back-friendly work, a lifting welding table with height adjustment is ideal. We would be happy to advise you personally on which configuration is best suited for your production needs.

Why is a FORSTER welding table more cost-effective in the long run than a D28 perforated plate table?

The price of a FORSTER welding table is comparable to that of similar D28 perforated-plate tables. However, because it requires significantly fewer accessories and has lower maintenance and cleaning costs, and because individual rails can be replaced instead of entire table tops, the total cost is significantly lower. The system pays for itself quickly, especially when used across multiple workstations.

Can I test a FÖRSTER welding table or get a demonstration?

Yes. We offer in-person consultations and demonstrations at our location in Hohenstein-Ernstthal. There, you can see the different table models, the T-slot system, and our accessories in action. Please contact us; we’d be happy to schedule an appointment.
