The FÖRSTER 3D welding and assembly table combines a welding and an assembly station in one. Its patented T-slot system in solid grey cast iron lets you position clamps and stops steplessly in the X and Y directions, with no fixed hole grid. Around 25 multifunctional clamping tools cover tasks that hole-plate systems need hundreds of parts for. The work surface expands rail by rail, comes in grey cast iron or Al/Cu and is flat to +/- 0.05 mm. Made in Germany.

3D Welding Table with T-Slot System: Stepless Positioning Without Fixed Incremental Steps

The FÖRSTER 3D welding table uses a patented rail system made of solid gray cast iron. Unlike the perforated plate systems commonly found on the market (D16, D22, or D28), the T-slot system allows for stepless positioning of clamping and stop devices in the X and Y directions. Workpieces can be secured exactly where the process requires.

Cost-effectiveness: fewer accessories, lower follow-up costs

The FÖRSTER 3D welding table is designed for minimal total cost of ownership. With approximately 25 universal, multifunctional clamping and positioning elements, you can cover applications for which perforated plate systems require hundreds of individual parts. If you equip three workstations, you will save significantly on your total investment because each of our tools performs multiple functions, meaning you need to stock fewer parts. Setup times decrease because the manageable product range leads to the goal faster. Cleaning and maintaining the table becomes easier, not more complex, over its service life. And should a rail ever be damaged, you only replace that individual rail, not the entire table. It is not the purchase price that matters – but the total cost. Even at a comparable purchase price, a FÖRSTER welding table offers decisive economic advantages. The robust grey cast iron system reduces wear, maintenance requirements, and replacement purchases to a minimum. The result: lower life-cycle costs, higher process reliability, and an investment that pays off over many years.

Grey cast iron as a work surface: an overview of the advantages

Gray cast iron offers decisive advantages over steel for the welding workstation: the lower thermal expansion ensures more stable welding results under thermal stress. The open-pored structure with a high graphite content forms a natural non-stick patina with regular maintenance, which extremely reduces weld spatter adhesion. Cleaning becomes easier, not more difficult, over the service life. In addition, gray cast iron significantly reduces impact noise, a measurable advantage for occupational safety in production.

For stainless steel processing: Al/Cu rails against contamination

In addition to the standard grey cast iron version, we offer rails made from an aluminium-copper alloy. These Al/Cu rails prevent surface rust and contamination during stainless steel machining. In combination with our clamping devices featuring brass or stainless steel contact surfaces, you receive a contamination-free workstation for reproducibly precise results.

Modular design: flexible for every size

The rails of the 3D welding table can be removed individually. This allows for openings to be created in the table surface, making it possible to insert bulky assemblies and work on them from all sides. The work surface can be enlarged with extension plates – without the need for a new table. Individual damaged
rails are replaceable, eliminating the need for a complete table replacement. The table is available in both stationary and mobile versions, with the mobile
variant featuring locking casters and the ability to be converted back to a stationary setup at any time.

Typical Applications

The 3D welding table is suitable for use in structural steel work, metal construction, vehicle manufacturing, tank construction, and general welding production. It is used as both a welding table and an assembly table; the modular design allows both applications on the same work surface.

Frequently Asked Questions About the 3D Welding Table and Assembly Table

What is the difference between a T-slot system and a perforated plate?

With the T-slot system, you can position clamping devices continuously at any point along the rail, whereas perforated plate systems such as D16, D22, or D28 are limited to fixed hole patterns. The continuous system saves setup time and requires significantly fewer accessories.

Can I use the 3D table for both welding and assembly?

Yes, the modular design allows for both applications to be performed on the same surface. You can clamp, tack, and weld assemblies and then use the same table as a dimensionally and angularly precise assembly workstation.

How many accessories do I need to get started?

For most tasks, a coordinated clamping tool set with about 25 multifunctional parts is sufficient. Since each element serves multiple functions, you’ll need to stock significantly fewer accessories than with perforated plate systems.

Can the tabletop be enlarged later?

Yes, the rails can be removed individually, and you can expand the surface area at any time using extension panels and support legs. This allows you to connect multiple tables to create a continuous work surface without having to buy a new table.

What type of tabletop surface is suitable for stainless steel?

For stainless steel machining, choose the Al/Cu alloy, which prevents foreign rust and contamination from ferritic materials. When combined with clamping devices made of bronze or stainless steel, this creates a contamination-free work area.

For which industries is the 3D welding table suitable?

The table is used in steel construction, metal fabrication, automotive manufacturing, tank construction, and general welding operations. The infinitely adjustable clamping system is equally suitable for frames, tubes, and housings.
